Kamala revealed herself when she blamed Tim Walz for the loss and whined about not picking Pete Buttigieg. Her consultant-controlled campaign shut down Walz when he forcefully pushed liberal positions.

I cannot fathom why DSAs and Far Left Progressives do not understand that running in unfavorable districts will just net them ugly losses. Run the candidate that can win, and pull them toward the most Progressive stances that you can safely get them to explain clearly to their electorate.

Out of all this, the momentum on David Jolly makes me happiest. I liked him when he was with the GOP, and even more now. He's just an all-around sensible, decent guy. I hope he sweeps it. Florida has been banged up and mangled for too long.
I always agree with Rick's tactical instincts; I think candidate quality matters most here. I also think WI Democratic primary voters remember the grave mistake they made with the fantastic-progressive-on-paper Mandela Barnes. The WI governorship is an enormous deal.
"Woke 1.0 was crazy" is indeed not the best way for AOC to phrase this; I'll remind errbody that a little over a year ago she was still sending me email saying that trans girls are girls (she's since dropped that bit of wokeitude). This is not a problem for Bernie, btw; Bernie has never been woke.
It's not as simple as saying it's a matter of focusing on economic issues over cultural issues. Bernie is a natural at that because he comes out of the Old Left; Liz Warren couldn't outflank Bernie from the economic left so she adopted all that crazy collegiate Woke 1.0 stuff and it sunk her. Liz's natural role is as a fierce economic regulator, consumer advocate and corporate cop.
But AOC's brand of progressive left didn't come out of the labor movement like Bernie's did. It's less about solidarity than it is about intersectionality, where everybody has to take offense on behalf of everyone else (hence all these white people apologizing for posting from stolen land). It's easy to make fun of, but important to note that it's founded by a firm and quite sincere ideological dedication to the notion of universal human rights. Hence why errbody gets on hair-trigger alert over anything that can be construed as an identity dis. Because all identities have equal value.
I think the best way for rational voters (including those on the left like Yours Truly) to check the hardcore identitarian left is to shame them with how utterly privileged an outlook it is.

Republicans in 2024 spent many millions tarring Harris with super-woke lies. It's not that she was hiding her support for gender-transition operations for high-school students, she did not support such nonsense. She did need to adopt the Lincoln Project's response ad to the idiotic - but apparently effective when not rebutted - suggestions about her position on trans people.
Nonetheless if millions of Biden voters had not stayed home rather than vote for an intelligent and sympathetic woman of color, she would have won.
So Vindman's nasty anti-Muslim stances are fine with you, because political reality means he has to suck up to Netenyahu's Israel. Too bad, but he really should not be excused for it. It really undermines his previous reputation for honest reliability.
