At 12:30 PM today - 11/5/24 Election Day - I voted, in person, for Freedom & Democracy...I voted Harris Walz and a straight blue ticket...feel good about it, too!
In all honesty, I am optimistic and can't believe a majority of this Country''s citizens don't want our democracy to survive or want the lives of those who have fought and died for our great experiment to have been for naught.

Got there at 6:45am, the line was already a block long. Since I'm in Center City, Philly, my precinct demo looked exclusively like seniors, students and professionals. I can't imagine there was a single Trump voter in that line ;) One woman had a Harris / Walz campaign merch shirt; I thought to myself, does this count as electioneering? Hey, I'll never tell ;) Once they opened the doors, the line moved quickly enough and everybody was sweet and polite as pie. About a half-hour out of my day.
I'm amazed at people who DON'T vote; it's like the very minimum civic duty if you live in a democracy. For all the hours people spend doing everything else, how can they not find a couple hours to vote.
For those of faint heart, I just saw Charlie Dent, former Republican Rep in PA, say he thinks Kamala's gonna sweep it - in his own formerly-red district that he knows so well.
And Mark McKinnon, the Republican strategist from Colorado (with the hat) is predicting a Kamala "blow out" - why? Women. They're the largest voting block, they're the highest propensity voters, they're super-motivated (Roe, Trump's misogyny and violent rhetoric). While Trump is counting on low-propensity angry young men.
It's Roe-vember.

Rick, why is Trump permitted to be on the ballot ILLEGALLY? Article 14 C is clear. Yet, as usual, Trump answers to a different set of laws, as in NONE, than the rest of us.
There are only seven articles in the Constitution so I'm not sure what Article 14 C is referring to. It has always been legal for convicts to run for public office and there were a couple of mayors who served famously while in jail. Eugene V. Debs got a percent or so of the vote while running for president from jail as a WW1 resister. Lyndon LaRouche's last presidential campaign was run from prison while he was serving a sentence for fundraising fraud.

At any rate, it seems to me like the most realistic scenario for an early indicator we have won would be an early call of NC for Harris. It is unlikely we will know PA until well after midnight.
