The Ten Commandments Game is supposed to be scored like golf, right? Or did I misunderstand the rules? SHOW ME YOUR TEN COMMANDMENTS SCORECARD THE GAME SHOW. Great gadonkadonk experiment. (I know the real word, gadonkadonk is funny.)
They won't be debating. It's a supposed meeting of the minds. I'm sure Rick has certain things she can agree with Ann Coulter about but one of them is assuredly _not_ being an avowed white nationalist like Ann "E Pluribus Awesome" Coulter.
Rick can colloquy with who he likes, but I don't have to be such a drool cup-wearing Rick fanboi that I have to watch _everything_ he _ever_ commits to video ;)
I'm curious how you separate debate from meeting of the minds. Seems fairly nebulous to me. :) Regardless, I'm still interested to see this, as it looks like a fairly diverse group. As painful as it might be, I still am a believer in solving problems by getting diverse thoughts in a room and hashing things out (respectfully of course). Such a lost art these days and much needed IMO. Maybe after (if) we make it out of all this BS, we'll relearn how to do it as a society when we have adults in the room again. At least I hope so.
It's very easy. This is not a debate show, with Rick's team and Ann's team and let's go at issues, this is one of those mind-numbing confabs of people on the right and people on the left that used to be a beloved trope in liberal newsrooms ("to come together on issues") and to PBS still. It leads to bothsiderist pablum. Like anybody's idea of "centrism" is somewhere between Jonathan Capehart and David Brooks ;). But here's the problem with this particular matchup:
You can't pit a fair-minded center-right anti-Trumpist like Rick against a click farming demagogue like Ann Coulter. I don't like the fact that Rick's mere presence on that forum helps to legitimize that racist harridan.
I watched the episode Rick was in yesterday. It was interesting to say the least. Still hypothetical, but eerily realistic, it tested all sides on how they would respond to several issues (in this case, all centered around the Ten Commandments and a governor's race). As with the previous show, some folks are better at role-playing than others. Some stuck to their as-to-be-expected-in-real-life schtick, and others had to struggle past that for the "right" answer. I was surprised to see the guy from the Heritage Foundation say the "right" thing on both episodes. On the other hand, he mentioned the option to "deflect" a response rather than taking responsibility. That tactic just flat out pisses me off... not matter which side it comes from.
For the record, Rick gave a visible eye-roll to one of Ann's standard bonkers quips. I was right there with him.
I'm just checking out the last show. I've never watched it before. Interesting format as it's hypothetical and roles are assigned, but loosely associated with real life. I'll hold judgment until I've watched the whole thing. From what I'm seeing, it's clear some folks are better at role-playing than others.
Just watched this last night! You did great - not sure how you kept your cool with Ann, Kristin, and Roger, but you did. Well done!

Thanks for the heads’ up, Mr Wilson, or I would have missed this program.

Love you and Steph Ruhle! Hope it was a great show!!
Cool
This will be good!
What is the “show” you will be on?
Who has a TV?
Where can we pre-order your book?
As for myself, I will watch of course! Looking forward to it!
Look forward to watching.
We’ll be tuning in from 🇨🇦.
Ann Coulter? Pass.
I would like to see how Rick handles her in debate.

You’re becoming famous! Appreciate the heads-up. Long live PBS!
I'll be tuning in Rick!
