Eric Holder agrees that Democrat gerrymandering is now necessary to preserve democracy.

I just read an article by attorney Marc Elias, who is preaching the same message. Loudly and vociferously. Good! I’m hoping the message continues to spread. This is no time for old school diplomacy.

Thanks Rick!! I’m in Colorado, and I sent this to Governor Polis. I told him to redistrict Boebert and Jeff Hurd out of their seats!

Politics is, and always has been, a dirty business. Brawling in the mud. Time to get in and get dirty or go home.

Not if you're the current Dem leadership

It's writing a letter that will never be read (Schumer), bitching that they're violating the Constitution (hello Raskin) and putting on performative nonsense like Booker's 26 hour filibuster, which accomplished exactly nothing

It's not having a media or blogosphere strategy to compete with Fox News, Rogan, Kirk, et al.

It's doing NOTHING

I don’t see a link to Rick’s letter

It's on his substack under the title The Redistricting Arms Race.

Where can I read this article you are talking about?

Bob McKeown's avatar

The Redistricting Arms Race on Rick's substack.

Yes. Democrats attack, attack, attack. No more of the bilateral, both sides nonsense. Republicans, all of them are the enemy. If you aren’t up for the battle go away. Time to take the battle to the republican criminals.

Mike's avatar

No. Won't happen. Can't do that. It'd be mean

Schumer and Jeffries are stuck on "Play Nice"

Durbin will write letters

Raskin is beholden to "WELL THE CONSTITUTION SAYS ... "

For the LOVE OF GOD ... can anyone here play this damn game?

MAGA Republicans are waging all out war. Democrats must fight back. In Texas, they are ILLEGALLY redrawing voting districts to capture 5 or more US Congressional seats so they can hold onto their house majority. Democrats must counterattack immediately and overwhemingly. The plan? Rick Wilson’s current article, The Redistricting Arms Race, provides it.

The Dems can be hapless ninnies. They want to engage in verbal warfare when the situation calls for a curb stomping.

I think it's worthwhile to fight back in Texas if even only to show that the Roberts’ court has completely gutted then abandoned the voting rights act. Besides they can feel the shame of race based voter suppression that will fall like a crushing thud against their legacy. Can we still win in the courts? Then yes or no, follow along on two tracks. Blue State governors should use gerrymandering to counter racial gerrymandering. It will be icing on the cake to give NY state fair maps.

Damn right. If the Dems don’t fight fire with a fucking flamethrower democracy is over. Every damn Blue state get on this NOW.

If the Democrats don't respond to this with the same evil passion that Republicans do, then we are done.

Time to sell the house, pack up and get out of Dodge.

I am having great difficulty following American political analysts like you Rick. Actually all American politics. It’s not your work, it’s the Orwellian, despotic mess you have to cover in the days of the Trump presidency. It is just too depressing now, and leaves me bewildered and alarmed that millions of Americans voted not once, but twice for Trump - a man with not one single human attribute. As your neighbour Canadians are concerned that this political virus is contagious, and hope that it dies out with its host.

Democrats need to show some fighting spirit.
