You forgot to include the concept that by encouraging corporate mega farming over family farms, the Trump administration is effectively collectivizing agriculture, in a 21st century way. That's about as communistic as you can get.

Socialism is universal health care, paid family leave, four day work week, decent wages, affordable child care, affordable housing, free college education. Take the money spent on wars and put it into some social programs that benefit the populace.
We need to hammer home the point that MAGA is effectively a totalitarian movement completely intolerant of any dissent whatsoever. We need to turn the "weaponization of government" projection right around and cram it up his butt so hard it's flappin' out his mouf. Even worse than all the bureaucratic drabness of the USSR, Trump's real crave is a North Korea-style personality cult dictatorship. Or maybe Saddam Hussein when he still had his Donald Rumsfeld rizz ;)
I don't want to edit what I wrote below but I will amend it: I _do_ think it's extremely important to have a counterpunch for all the gratuitous "Communist" accusations Democrats are going to start receiving (let's see what happens if he tries to fuck with Mamdani). This is whataboutery, but whataboutery has always been a part of political combat rhetoric. We're here to score points, not play by the Marquis du Queensbury rules.
Any Democrat accused of being a "Communist" should just rattle off all the ways that Trump is _actually_ being a Communist. That's good for C-SPAN clips. So I take LP's point here.
In its own terms it's another splendid LP production but I have questions about the premise. Laughing at Commies is fun for the people who remember the cold war and cheered the US on, but just like with Israel, we're undergoing a vast cultural reassessment of our role in that era. Let's never forget that, leaving out the Trump factor for a sec, we're at war with Iran because of the CIA / MI6 coup against Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953.
Attempts at trying to leverage cold war nostalgia to make a political point are getting pretty niche. The whole Trump-is-a-Commie-cuz-he-wants-to-control-the-means-of-production stuff goes over most people's heads, not least the people born after '91 who aren't political history nerds.
I think using organized crime iconography would be more effective at making the same points. Hating the Mafia is a lot less controversial than feeling warm 'n' fuzzy about Vietnam.
