Benny has a cameo in the Goodbye Charlie Lego video.

I’ll admit it. I have TFS (Trump Fatigue Syndrome).

Thank you to you both for this!! 🙌 This provides great insight and hope for the machine's wheels coming off.

Definitely one of your very best, Rick. Please have Ashley on again when you think the time is right. She is, as you said, a bright light.

My nephew is her age…he did not succumb to the dark side of social media. He figured it out. So I dont buy the excuses for her self confessed shit posting.

This was a really good conversation, and Ashleigh explains the dynamics of TPUSA, MAGA & how they start the melting minds of the college audience - so pernicious. Much like Fox News with the Boomers. Glad she was able to get out of the MAGA cult & and articulate the path forward.

Ashleigh is a beautiful woman to the core!

I am fascinated by people who do awful things for money. This young woman was very young when she got into some bad stuff. Lying liars are the worst. Did Ashley actually f—k Elon or are her children test tube babies? I don’t really want to know. It’s gross either way. There’s a word for people who do things for money. That word escapes me at the present moment. I appreciate that she may have her children’s welfare in mind now. I have major concerns that her children will be alright.

Thanks Rick: Great guest.

Thank you, Mr. Wilson. Ashleigh, congratulations for getting away from all that, MAGA. I think that is really important to stick to what you. It takes courage to walk away. Be safe young lady. Cyber bullying is no fun. I just go and deal with it through my security company. I’m way too old 😂. I’m just had my birthday two weeks ago. My sister is way deep in the MAGA cult. We are 11 months and 11 days apart. Mr. Wilson, I am glad you and your family are willing to help this young lady. From what, I have been told it’s hard to cut those strings about, MAGA. If you like Independent Media. Please subscribe to Rick Wilson’s Against All Enemies.

Refreshing to hear an articulate intelligent young women with clear critical thinking and I wish her every success in her mission

love the coverage but can we stop calling her this now

Anna Bolique's avatar

Yes. Please. For the love of God. I know that Rick means absolutely no disrespect, but that phrase is so demeaning.

I wouldn’t want that dubious title either.

That was a fantastic conversation! She's a good egg.

SeekingReason's avatar

Good that someone involved in these cult groups can re-assess like she is. Good to see.

Mike's avatar

Yes, it's good to see. But I'll stand up and take notice when large blocs of people who he's screwed start repudiating him. Farmers, Hispanics, Blacks, others.

He had a LOT of support from those groups, and ... crickets

This woman, while interesting and sincere, is just one.

Yes, there are a few others here and there. But for the love of God, how badly do ppl need to be screwed before they wake up? Farmers are losing farms that have been in their family for generations. Hispanics are watching their neighbors and relatives be hauled away. Blacks, he just F'd you over on the VRA.

And ... crickets.

We are nowhere near where we need to be to reclaim our soul as a nation and at this point, I don't know if we ever will be. The dark forces in the media - Fox, Rogan, the Ellisons, Bezos - and the failed outlets - CBS, CNN< NYT and WaPo - are getting stronger and darker

SeekingReason's avatar

Mike, the buy-out of our media, allowed and watched by all of the politicians created phenomenal harm. They are part of the Project 2025 Fascist group. But any person who was previously tied with these scum and can see what is in front of them is a good thing. Even one person will influence someone. In her case she can access a multitude of people.

Mike's avatar

I repeat she's just one person

Yes, she can access multiple people, but what % of them will listen? As we know, MAGA is near impenetrable, so I'd guess less than 1%.

We need about 5,000 of her. We need entire blocs of his supporters to turn on him and that simply is NOT happening. 40% years of Limbaugh and Fox News have cultivated societal hate, and it's getting worse.

These clowns who claim to have had epiphanies like Carlson and Rogan ... they aren't worth a shit. Rogan was back in the Oval last week, hanging with Trump and hawking psychedelics. Carlson is prepping for a '28 run. Megyn Kelly, another one, is a flat out hateful, cruel person; MTG, same.

I could go on.

Anna Bolique's avatar

Do you ever watch Rick and his son Andrew's "Behind the Numbers" podcast? Those polls are not the opinions of individuals; they're public opinion in the aggregate. Or do you really feel that all those independents, Hispanics, Black men, and voters 18-30 who voted for 45 in 2024 but have abandoned him since then, are going to come back after seeing every campaign promise broken, food and gas prices skyrocketing, their family members deported (in the case of Hispanic voters), and war in the Middle East that makes no sense, many of them with family members in harm's way? Do you ever get out to a No Kings protest?

Brainwashed MAGA zealots who never venture outside their FOX/Newsmax echo chamber will never stop supporting the idiot, but that's not how the rest of the country is trending.

Mike's avatar

No I just sit behind the keyboard and bitch

FFS, I've been to No Kings, and I've gone door to door canvassing for a Congressional candidate in >100 degree Arizona heat. I go to precinct meetings and I donate. I'm a Precinct Captain

This is not the snippy fight you want.

My pessimism stems from this: There has been almost zero accountability for 10+ yrs for this MFer and his band of thieves. Biden fumbled the ball, Garland wouldn't even touch the ball, and we have the two worst imaginable Congressional leaders for these times. And on top of that, in '16 and '24 >10M registered Dems didn't vote; add to that in '16, a whole lot of Dems crossed over and voted for him. Our electorate is weak

This MAGA movement is more about the hate that's been shoved down our throats for ~45 years from right wing media more than it is Trump.

Anna Bolique's avatar

I'm not trying to have a snippy fight; I'm trying to understand your pessimism.

I'm sorry you feel this way and hope you come to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Anna Bolique's avatar

*This woman, while interesting and sincere, is just one.*

I get it. But her history as an online influencer, with thousands of followers, matters. If 1/10 of them manage to wake up thanks to her sharing her journey with them, that's huge.

Mike's avatar

I hope you're right and I'm wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

Remember a couple weeks ago there was a video clip making the rounds of some woman at a gas pump, saying she voted for Trump but now she really regrets it? People got all excited, because we're so desperate to see any sign of MAGA cracking

I said at the time and I repeat: That was anecdotal and not indicative of any sort of meaningful fissure and I was right. There's no mass MAGA exodus, even from people whose lives he's made miserable.

Anna Bolique's avatar

Not true. MAGA is cracking. You need to look in the right places. Forget corporate media - they'll never report it -- and of course Fox News and Truth Social followers will follow Trump over the cliff no matter what, but besides Trump's current abysmal approval ratings, the far more visceral way to see what rank and file MAGA are thinking, is to start following progressive/pro-democracy content creators who lurk MAGA cult groups on platforms like Rumble and Telegram (so we don't have to!). These folks are reporting that a very large portion of the base is FURIOUS at Trump for the rising food prices, gas prices, tariffs, Epstein, the war...essentially doing the exact opposite of what he promised on the campaign trial. They are angry that he's turned out to be "Billionaires First" instead of "America First," and at themselves for being so easily duped. The latest? Asking taxpayers to pay for the ballroom that was supposed to be a gift to America, funded by donors. "WHAT??" That drove people out of their minds! Hoooooo-boy, the fighting going on between the Trump die-hards and the ones now saying they'll either "stay home or vote Democrat until the current regime is out" is epic.

BTW, a huge number of them also think this past weekend's events at the WHCAD was staged.

...

Many of them recognize that he's declining cognitively too.

One of my favorites is "Cult College" on YouTube. She screenshots and reads this stuff out loud. Popcorn-worthy.

Then you have some very crazy but nevertheless hugely influential MAGA people like Tucker Carlson, who all but called DT the antichrist; Candace Owens, Nick Fuentes, and even Alex Jones who all have turned on him. They have millions of followers. Popular podcasters in the "Bro-verse" like Andrew Shultz and Theo Vonn have turned on him. These people have a lot of reach and influence.

Mike's avatar

I won't argue that there aren't some fissures. There are.

But I'm not moved when a person, or even a few persons, go on an apology tour. This is what I'd call anecdotal, not indicative of a large movement where sanity has suddenly overcome the masses.

Let's take a few of them:

- Rogan blasts Trump, says he's done, then last week, there he is in the Oval, smiling, thumbs up, standing behind Trump hawking psychedelics.

- Carlson: A weak, flaccid apology that leaves out WAY more than it includes. Rick fileted him beautifully. It's nothing more than performative, self serving nonsense from a guy who wants to run in '28

- Owens, Fuentes, Megyn Kelly: These are truly hateful and cruel people; they type who love seeing old ladies fall down steps. I trust none of them, and if Trump had them down to MAL for dinner, cocktails and sunbathing, they'd be right back on board.

- Farmers/Hispanics/Blacks. These are important Trump blocs of voters. Where are they today? You might have seen a few say "I'm done", but FFS, he has monumentally screwed them. Farmers have lost their farms, Hispanics are being disappeared, Blacks are gonna have trouble voting. But all I see is an occasional guy or three saying "maybe I was wrong"

Why aren't there mass protests among them?

I actually have the answer: They've been groomed by decades of Limbaugh, Fox and the Trump Industrial Complex to HATE liberals, even when it makes no sense and they ain't comin' back in any meaningful numbers.

Exactly Anna. She has a very good reach.
