Garbage People and The Closing Days
First, Happy Halloween!
I’m going as a profoundly exhausted former GOP political consultant, ad-maker turned writer, and pro-democracy fighter with too much mileage and too little sleep for the last nine years.
Put aside for a moment the faux brouhaha over Joe Biden’s misplayed (and, to be sure, mistimed) comments Tuesday night…in fact, put it aside entirely except as a lesson in politics.
Fox/MAGA/Trump/Twitter outrage machine did what it does and generated the usual reeeeeeee of “duh elites hate u” messages to their base. Not one vote was moved in either direction by it. Not. One. Every person making a fuss about it online was already a Trump voter.
