I am glad you addressed this critical issue, but I do hope that the criticism we hear from you and others is addressed to the top-tier leadership, not to ALL Democrats. As a lifelong progressive Democrat, I knew who Kamala was and what she is capable of, and I believed she would have made an outstanding President. But I was horrified every time she got snarled in identity issues. I kept wanting her to say, “seriously? THAT’S all you’ve got? At a time when we are recovering from the worst pandemic in a century and people are worried about their economic futures, that is the best you can do on behalf of the American people?” I suspect she was told to not be dismissive of these issues. And here we are….
I do believe that supporting the full humanity of all people is critically important. I do believe we are in a climate crisis. But first, if people can’t pay the bills, they don’t have the bandwidth to think of anything else. And second, those two issues (and many others) can most effectively be addressed at the local level by people who do have the bandwidth.
I agree with you. Democratic consultants are out of touch with middle America. I’ve seen them flown into my state and give awful advice. If they can’t understand that the economy is the #1 issue, they should be fired. I spent my earlier years in coastal blue bubbles and the last few decades outside of these areas. There’s a big difference. The fact that the Dems did not respond to the trans ad was pathetic and did a great disservice to LGBTQ youths and adults all over the country. Dems can’t make the same mistake twice.

Republicans are the ones that blew it. They are the party that consistently and repeatedly move to protect and defend our lawless president and child rapists. They have their hands on every single lawless and depraved action this president has taken. They are cowards, anti-democracy, anti-capitalist insurrectionists. Their sole purpose is to destroy our way of life. Every day we need to be singing this song so every person who voted for this abomination along with every person who didn’t vote comes back and votes to send every single Republican back home.
Yes, I’m interested in the blunders of the Democrats. It’s my party and I believe the truth needs to be told. People who acted against our best interests should be unmasked in a full account of everyone’s actions. It was absurd what they did, but they are not the reason why we are in our current state.
You’re not wrong. But I would point out that climate change IS an economic issue. It is an affordability issue. One reason homes aren’t affordable and energy is so expensive is climate change.

The Party and the Biden Administration made terrible errors, and we now have President Donald J Trump….so let’s get busy voting for the “D”, and take back our nation at the midterms. We have to stop picking at the scabs of 2024, and let 2026 begin the healing.
