Rick, this is a brilliant and terrifying read. One thing I've been wrestling with after reading it is the possibility that the Antichrist might not be a single person at all—but the system without God that empowers someone like him. It's the machinery of power that co-opts faith and creates a "strong delusion." I tried to explore this deeper idea of systemic deception in an essay about the U.S.-Israel alliance, looking at how "chosen nations" may be serving an earthly ledger. Would love your thoughts if you have time: https://wendywilliamson.substack.com/p/the-nations-that-see-god
There is no ONE antichrist and the word only appears in John’s first letter chapter 2 verses 18,22 which speaks of the antichrist coming “ even now MANY antichrists have appeared.” Verse 22 “Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ. This is the antichrist , the one who denies the Father and the Son. “
Therefore, all who DENY Jesus is the Christ, (anointed one, chosen one, ) are antichrists . Trump professes to believe that Jesus is the Christ, but most of what comes out of that mouth is garbage so maybe he has some belief, but it’s mostly in himself. You decide. Is he one of the “ many” antichrists ? It seems so.
The upside for us is that Jesus was crucified. It ended well with the Ressurrection, but death on a cross might be a suitable end for Agent Orange as it is highly unlikely he will be resurrected.
The Book of Revelation is a book that accurately describes human nature. How someone actually believes that they are equal to God. How people are deceived for the sake of gaining power, revenge, and control over others. In the end they are destroyed and justice prevails. Jesus is not going to come back literally on a horse wielding a sword, but rather we must rise up, confront and vanquish this evil. In the end, I believe Revelations is a roadmap of how to reclaim our country.
I see that for a long time. The description is very close. I am not even that religious, but reading revelations in 2019 I was so relieved in 2020 when he lost. I never saw him coming back again.
This piece needs to be converted into a fundamentalist-style religious pamphlet that primes MAGA Christians to feel that their very souls are in danger by endorsing Trump and his ilk. Those pamphlets must then be surreptitiously distributed widely throughout the country psyops-style (perhaps even dropped from planes?).
Rick, there was a time when I would have taken this extremely well-written article with a somewhat humorous grain of salt, but not now. The thought of Trump being the AntiChrist is chilling but a column written in 2019 by theologian Benjamin L. Corey is absolutely terrifying! The way it relates to what's happening in 2026 is insane. It's a MUST-READ and my mind was totally blown after reading it. Some of the Biblical predictions about the AntiChrist have already been cited, but definitely not all. If you want to take a deeper dive into this and really keep yourself up at night, RICK, PLEASE READ!
As a practicing heathen, I decided I needed to get an actual definition of "Anti-Christ." I asked that reliable source, AI. Or, as that woman pretending to be the Sec of Education calls it, A-One.
So this is what I'm told: "He is described as a "man of lawlessness", "the Beast", and a "worthless shepherd" who will blaspheme God, stand in God's temple declaring himself God, and perform deceptive miracles."
Onward Christian Soldiers. There are a lot more of us out there, than you might think. The Orange Deceiver is soon going to be in for a rude awakening. Jesus threw a table at the money changers defiling the Temple. Wonder what he is going to throw at Pumpkin Head, besides us.
Maybe. He might be the Antichrist. I just hate giving Trump that kind of importance and I cannot believe God would choose him to usher in the Second Coming. I prefer to think of Trumpism as just a particularly nasty dose of evil/human suffering.

Rick outdid himself on this one, didn’t he? Of course, he’s got his own high bar to vault over, but did.

Rick, thank you for your humor and your wisdom.

A sincere thank you for all that you do! You help keep me sane amongst all the madness.

Cool. I'm good with that.

Why don't you get Matthew Fox's opinion.
