I just saw Kimmel's monologue. The man could not have been more gracious. So this is lovely for everybody. I do believe the cracks are starting to show in the concrete slab that is the MAGAverse. I was a licensed professional architect so I’m going to use this analogy. 👇🏼
If you have a slab of concrete with steel rebar or wire reinforcement, and any water penetrates the concrete slab, eventually it will work its way through to the steel and the steel will begin to rust. As it rusts, it expands. As it expands, it causes the concrete to crack more. And eventually the slab will fail- it will break completely.
I think we’re starting to see those first hairline cracks. It’s just a matter of time now. But a great deal of damage has been done to the USA and it may take quite a while to repair.
The cracks seem relatively minor to me. Are there differences among these clowns? Some, yes. But their various North Stars still shine brightly. Trump, Kirk, Rogan, Fox News, Tim Poole. Still enormously popular - ALL of them

I don't see it this way. I think it's entirely possible to adopt a sane and humane trans issue policy that both trans people and gender critical people can support. You start by acknowledging the biology. I'm on AOC's mailing list and a year ago she was saying that trans girls are girls. She stopped. That's good, because while trans girls have the same human rights as the rest of us, they're not girls, they're trans girls. Body parts are real things.
Despite the enormous Venn overlap, sex and gender are not the same things. We have to be patient, though, that they've been culturally conflated; you can't really try to explain to voters that "man" and "woman" are social constructions. We recognize what is meant. "Birthing person" is a far bigger insult to the English language than the offense to a pregnant trans man of identifying them as a woman.
So we all can lighten up on the pronouns, I think.
It's also fair to recognize that some committed trans rights activists _should_ be committed -- to, you know, a looney bin. One TRA here told me that "allowing" a child who identifies as trans to go through puberty is "child abuse." I told them that was nuts and they blocked me, LOL
So the pillar of Democratic policy on trans issues should be full equal rights for trans adults but let nature take its course until then. A sex transition is simply too weighty an issue to be decided without full legal responsibility.
Also, I think that Kamala fragment is a famous misquote. I think she was talking about having hormone therapy during a prison sentence, not state-sponsored surgeries which I don't think is offered anywhere.
