The sound was chippy. But this was fantastic. I'm a female in special ed, trying to rescue boys. Precious boys. I tear up. They are being trashed by the school system and by women - maybe even their own fathers or lack thereof. You guys nailed it. Please keep broadcasting this message!

Terrible audio.....you can do better

Couldn’t stay with it- too choppy. Please repost with better audio

You and the professor are amazing. Please start a podcast together. 🤭

I joined the live feed, but then had to leave for an appointment at an undisclosed location. Just kidding. It was Cherry City Waxworks🍒 and I don’t give a fuck who knows. Look away, children. Grandma is about to make you very uncomfortable. If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? If I get my [choose your own euphemism] waxed and there’s no one to touch it...? Yes to both. The tree feels itself. And so do I. The tree is part of everything and so am I. Doing things that are just for me creates ripples. (My poem about ripples is available elsewhere.)

Men are afraid that women will laugh at them and women are afraid that men will kill them. (The origin of this statement is murky, much like the Pudding River where my high school classmate, William Scott Smith, disposed of his victims.) Solving the loneliness epidemic and helping young men develop the skills necessary to participate in society are issues way above my pay grade.

This society is broken. Burn it all down. If we decide to rebuild it, authenticity is necessary in all things. The old society was created with conformity at its heart. Authenticity is a superpower. The new world must honor masculinity and femininity as cohorts of creation. Finally, there are no bad words. Use all the mutherfucking words.

More Scott Galloway, please.

Other than that, I've got a bone to pick. Rick's long-burning hot take on "Why The Dems Lost" has been a 'branding disaster' re: young men. That the young men were unnecessarily driven away and, But For That, Harris would be in the White House.

Ok, let's game this out. What should the Dems do instead? It's fairly clear that this wisdom follows a path 180 degrees out of phase of what they've been doing. To wit:

/s/

- Stop defending trans people. Ignore the bleeding hearts wailing about how trans kids kill themselves, it's not a fixable problem and only alienates the rubes.

- Stop pandering to women. Accept the limits that the larger society want to place on their reproductive freedoms. Stop all the divisive rhetoric about how women make less in the workplace, the glass ceiling, whatever else. That's all so 1990's. Propose programs to return women to their 'traditional roles'.

- Drop the gun control battles. 32% of American adults own guns. Does that number sound familiar? You will not capture them at the ballot box by continuing to demonize them for their hobby. The NRA score is a metric, work on getting it up.

- Stop the hostility towards fundamentalist religion. Find ways to win the pastors over. Be willing to consider punitive measures to be taken against people who are childless or non-religious. Make public atheism a hate crime. Support a national ban on abortion.

- Agree that 'independent' institutions, like 'higher education' should be controlled and monitored by civil society, by way of a regulating state. Be open to mandating 'educational' programs that are uncritical of American history.

- 'Identity Politics' is divisive. Signal that maybe 'racial realism' has some validity. Consider re-instituting anti-miscegenation laws. Agree that abusive language is no longer an aggravating factor for hate crimes. Reconsider hate crimes entirely. Signal that you're open to rolling back the Civil Rights Acts.

In short, become Republicans. Then you'll win.

I read "make public atheism a hate crime" and was almost about to lose my shit but then finally twigged that you were being sardonic.

Which is how the best sardonic snark works. Kudos, George ;)

George in Atlanta's avatar

Thanks Bob. I get wound up and sometimes forget to use my "/s/" warning label.

Bob McKeown's avatar

No, never use /s/ labels; that's for sarcasm anyway, which is nearly always obvious.

Sardonicism is different. It's _supposed_ to make you do a double take ;)

George in Atlanta's avatar

I do use them, as you can see. I have to write for the most casual reader. I want to tweak but I don't enjoy pointless flame wars. Many will not *do* a double take.

Bob McKeown's avatar

Well that's the satirist's art, which I appreciate highly.

Please provide a transcript this is such an I interesting topic.

I seem to have trouble turning into your live videos.

Look out for AGI. And read all the books about the broligarchy, technofascim, technofeudalism because this shit is scary as fuck.

The time is now. The line is here. Ours is a job to do. From New York Harbor, we heard the unarmed but alarmed Lady Liberty’s clarion call. I made us 100 protest signs, here. Atop the U.S. Capitol Building Lady Freedom heard her. It is Lady Freedom that holds this Nation’s sword .She pulled it, dismounting to lead us to the streets. They both pointed out clear ways without bloodshed: boycott and gerrymander. Yes, we can, Cesar, Sí se puede. Rise!

This is so f’ing depressing .

Well, at least there'll always be some 'Johnny's ("Wild One") or 'Fonzies' around to set an example of how to go the hard way, eh ?

A great conversation...but so choppy...staccato interruptions etc...I wanted to pass this on -- to a lot of people...but hesitate because the sound quality was so bad...

That said...the "content" was really GREAT...fix it, please and repost

AGREE! Maddening, the quality of choppiness and skipping every other word.

I really want to be able to listen to this. Please fix. Too important to miss

Yeah, Scott Galloway is great. Rick's producer Whitney said in the livestream chat that it was a substack issue and she had a clean copy. Apparently she didn't :(

I urge everyone to watch Hannity to see what Trump fans are seeing. I saw a couple of minutes of tonight's episode (8/6). Stephen Miller was his guest. Miller started is rant with this..."When Trump came into office, the economy was on its deathbed...". Then he went on with all the wonderful things Trump is doing to turn things around. I don't know about you, but I seem to recall that most economists were saying, at the end of last year, that the U.S. economy was the envy of the world.

Bob McKeown's avatar

Stephen Miller exists on his deathbed and sleeps in a coffin.
