Ron DeSantis Gets Punched In The Face
...and it's a preview for Donald Trump.
There was a shining moment when Ron DeSantis thought he was a golden god.
In the minds of his fans—those who for a brief time in his Presidential run couldn’t resist a muscle-T bearing the words “DeFuture”—he was “Donald Trump with brains.” He was MAGA’s next big thing, brandishing the slogan “Make America Florida” as if the rest of the country aspired to Florida Man memes on repeat. This was back in the heady days of 2023 and 2024 when he and his donors were sloshing around in a pool of over $400 million, hard and soft dollars combined.
The man was bilingual: he’d speak corporate-meritocracy Mandarin in the morning to boardrooms of uneasy millionaires, then switch to the hot, hostile argot of MAGA after lunch, accent and all.
Cringey as it sounds, DeSantis was indeed “DeFuture.” Or so the faithful insisted.
