11 months ago, Donald Trump rolled into his second term like a guy who’d just found the cheat codes to the American Presidency. How the mighty have fallen.
DOGE. Project 2025 (Surprise!). The Unitary Executive, supersized. Big talk and bigger threats to his enemies and allies alike. Pardons for criminals, terrorists, scammers who pledged fealty and cut in the Trump crime family. The pumping beat of the campaign soundtrack of grievance and vengeance, repurposed into Trump’s impulsive and ugly flavor of governance.
And now, right before Thanksgiving 2025, the supposedly unstoppable MAGA juggernaut looks less like a war machine and more like a rusted-out carnival ride at the county fair with sparks coming off the axles and the carnies looking for a better gig.
This is Trump’s losing streak, and the GOP is paying the price.
It’s not just that he’s a bad week here or there. It’s not as if he’s had one bad headline or a few policy or political hiccups. It’s a pattern. A slow-motion plane crash. A slide. A cold realization spreading through Republican donor suites and MAGA group chats alike: the man who promised domination is delivering a string of defeats, walk-backs, failures, fuckups, and humiliations.
