It takes a profound sickness to have as much money as that bastard and STILL devote your entire existence to making more of it, no matter how dirty the means.

I need to reread The Hobbit. 🐉

Imagine if Natalie tapped that keg and make off with all the gelt. He's addled and crapulent on any axis. And love, of course.

I was thinking that exact same thing when I read about the balance in his PAC. He might spend a little, here and there, but he will spend the next 2 1/2 years plotting to take it all with him. Maybe he will just use it after 2028, to keep some of his minions in Congress scraping and bowing at his feet. But I believe most of it will end up in his personal bank account - that is if he can find a bank that won't kick him to the curb due to money laundering.

Love this metaphor, Rick.

I 100% agree—with all of it!….:)👏👏

Another great piece and spot on assessment of the corrupt and sociopathic cesspool of he who shall not be named here. Rick is the consummate ‘profiler’ of the dysfunctional party and so grateful for his insight.

Please, let him take it and GO! Just LEAVE.

Let’s hope you continue to be right. If Vance, or GOP leadership, gave a shit about the Party, they would have tried to somehow remove Trump.

Please don’t leave the Lincoln Project tv ads to the 2028 months. THIS couple of months needs them, too! Put on your ‘thinking cap’ for creativity — we need your genius!!

Great column. Coincidentally, I finished re-reading The Hobbit last night. It seems like MAGA is headed to a Battle of the Five Armies, Rick. Thoughts?

They don't think they need to spend money since they know the election will be rigged and the Republicans will keep their majorities. Just sayjng

Charlie's avatar

Uh, no. That's not what they think. They are cowards, but I don't think they're ALL stupid enough to rely on Trump's schemes.

That expression "Karma is a bitch" and it's coming to see those GOP members real soon. When I think about how those spineless fools in both the House and the Senate refused to do what is right and continued to go along with his agenda it truly disgusts me. They are so scared of him and the death threats they think they are going to get. Meanwhile there are so many Dems, and you as well Rick, who have been on the receiving end of those and none of you have stopped or given in to Orange Assholini. Yet they continue to be accomplices in destroying the Country and most likely believe he will help them keep their seats. Karma is coming and as you are so fond of saying Rick #ETTD and no one deserves it better than the GOP Congress, the sooner the better for the country!

💯

What do you think of when you think of a Third World country? (I don’t think we’re supposed to call them that anymore, but it’s better than what Trump calls them.) I think of a leader (Ferdinand Marcos, Papa Doc DuValier, et al) who has bled the country’s resources dry for his own enrichment. Does that remind you of any country today? I’ll give you a moment to think . . .

Concerning this hemisphere they are known as Banana Republics. Run by Banana Republicans.

What could be more fitting?😉

Lefty Red's avatar

Oh absolutely. I for one can't wait for the moment the Republican electeds who've spent the last 10 years lying & covering up & whatabouting on his behalf realize they're simply more of his marks.

But they also see themselves as the potential beneficiaries of the one-party authoritarianism that the Project 2025 writers envisioned. R party rule, forever! It's amazing how close "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962) movie had it to today's world - the R (virulently right-wing) party conspires with BOTH the Russians and Chinese to attempt a takeover of the US government. That's essentially what's happening now and ever since Trump went to Russia when it was still part of the USSR (1980s).

I look at it as Putin kicking our butts and never firing a shot. Trump was his weapon. But, we just may make it out of this because Trump is such a flawed personality...anyway I think Putin has something on him, and the rest of the repubs that visited Russia at his invite. There's lots of kompromat (blackmail) in there somewhere, and that traitorous bunch has it hanging over their heads, so they kowtow to Trump and Putin like their lives depend on it.

He's hoarding as much money as he can because that's his escape America money! That catering cart was a trial run.

Cherie's avatar

I am certain his plans were to flee if he lost the 2024 election. I sure hope someone out there can track where "his" money goes, abroad.

Supposedly that's the Qatar bank account, that We aren't supposed to worry about, you know, because of tarriffs making us So much money. We'll never get that back but maybe his golf courses ect. will have to suffice for how badly he's ripping us off.
