She’s a DOD retiree as is my stepdad Jim who came from IA where they both ran programs at the Rock Island Arsenal. And my brother and sis-n-law came in from central NE. Jim treated us to a brunch with mimosas or a Bloody Mary. And she loved the cake we brought for them. Today I helped hang up her curtains in the living and dining rooms. Just stood on a rickety ladder a few x 😮💨. Got home in time to catch the debate on NPR. Republican lies from their watchers. Ho hum 🥱 Good night all
What RD is doing is awful, disgusting,and terrorizing. Unless it is called out and stopped, it will be normalized. As you noted, this type of behavior has been/ was utilized by several autocratic leaders to neutralize and dissent in their countries. I hope this makes the national news and is summarily condemned.
As a FL resident, I have watched DeSantis push authoritarian bills aimed at suppressing Black history and voting power, oppressing LGBTQ citizens, stifling public school teachers, threatening ob-gyn providers and women.
Florida is clearly serving as a test run of what Project 2025 will impose in the US if we don't crush MAGA in November. Vote blue people, unless you prefer living in a dictatorship!
I won't spend a dime in Florida (or Texas). Suggest to me some Florida-based companies so I can avoid their products. And don't say to me this will just hurt the good people of Florida. Those good people continually elect a state government that threatens to pull down democracy for us all.
Please advertise the corrupted and hate filled nature of this zealot of conservative Christianity situated in Tallahassee but going much much lower below grade as we go. My governor , headed for a championship of malfeasance .
Florida isn’t a discussion topic for a family vacation. It was a regular spot for spring training to no longer felt safe. Lax gun laws left me feeling unsafe. Desantis cares only for his political future assuming he has one after his disastrous presidential campaign. For a state that depends on the tourist dollar, one has to wonder when reality will, if ever, will return.
