There's another elephant in the room that no one really talks about much. We, the people, could put a stop to the stupidity and the abuse. We could walk off the job into the streets. We could shut down the economy. We could have them holed up on military bases like rats. We could storm the halls of government. We could drag them out of their homes and offices and lock them up. Would the National Guard and/or the Army stop us? They might try, or they might join us.
But there's a reason we don't do that. We don't want to damage the republic any more than it has already been damaged. We know that one day, very soon, they will be gone from power, and America will be back. Humbled, probably deservedly so, but with greater clarity and unity, with renewed purpose, and stronger than before. And with a lot of work to do restoring the economy, the federal government, and the public trust.
There's a podcaster named Constantin, a Russian in exile whose podcast, Inside Russia, is essential for Kremlin watching. Like all Russian dissidents, he's depressed, hunted, and sick with anxiety and fear, for himself, his family, and for what Putin is doing to Russia. He doesn't talk about US politics, and on one live podcast recently, a frustrated, angry American viewer apologized for trying to ask him about the Trump-Putin relationship. Constantin looked at the camera and said, "You have nothing to apologize for. You will be fine. You're still in your country, you still have democracy. This is a stress test of your system." I realized that it takes someone far away, exiled in Uzbekistan, watching their own country crumble, to objectively see the situation in the US for what it is.
Trump doesn’t know anything about diplomacy. I feel he may try and allow China take over Taiwan. All Trump could do is brag about China buying 200 hundred airplanes.
But, but, he got to see his bible factory. We don't know what Trump and family side deals were made. Anyway, he seemed to have a good time in the good ol' boy dictator's club that he aspires to join.
The country that elected this malevolent fool twice should not lead the world moving forward. It’s like letting a drunk drive the car. Very sad as an American to be living through this, but not really surprised since I knew Trump was very bad news from the start. We’ve treated blacks and Indians so badly, and now we are paying the price. Karma is a bitch as they say. Maybe this country is getting what we deserve. Trump/MAGA is basically a racist movement. Look what’s it’s done for us. We’re weaker for sure, and I doubt we’ve bottomed out yet. Won’t be coming back from this soon, or likely ever, in terms of global stature. I hope we learn something and move toward transformational change, as well as accountability for this lawless cabal of shameless pedophiles and theives.
Yes, transformational change is needed. Global stature we formerly had is gone. Before he was reelected I told my husband I didn’t think the country could survive Trump 2.0. Sadly, that seems to be what is happening. It is really hard to witness. We must stand in solidarity together and in opposition to this fascistic juggernaut.
Did he give away the AI chips yet? Wager his sons bet that outcome on the Polymarkets. Always giving away the competitive advantages is not a way to make deals; it’s how we lose as a nation.
He’s only tough on small fries like Maduro; such a weak negotiator with nations that really matter in the world.
💯% on point analysis Rick of where we are this moment in the grips of Trumpism. I grieve the destruction of our nation under the CRIMINAL TRUMP regime.
Rick, I don’t know anyone better to ask than you - why why why is the abuse allowed to continue?? We watch him steal everything right in front of our eyes and he doesn’t give a shit. How can this be allowed. He’s breaking the law every single day!!
Trump is every authoritarian leader’s chump.
He's owned by Putin. The only president in the pocket of our enemy.

Orange Menace just wants to be friends and have Xi over for some steak and chocolate cake at Mar a Lago.
Did anyone think that Xi's very long handshake was hurting Trump? He seems to be the one doing the pressure shake?

So we are comparing a country that plans in terms of decades versus Trump who has the attention span of a squirrel on meth.

SCOTUS legalized executive criminality.
To see the clip again of The American Card Game/ ThankYouScolding,
triggered wincing disgust again.
I have no idea how to sign in... Sorry.
