I pray to live to see all of this. The afterparty should be lit.

Threaten me with a good time … let’s hope I live long enough to bear witness.

well, aren't you the optimist! nobody in all of Russia to step effectively into Putin's shoes? All his nostalgia for the USSR not shared by anybody likely to take over in the Kremlin?

I hope you're right.

You may be even more optimistic that the MAGA loonies will care if Trump's Russian connections are even more obvious than they are today. Anyway, they'll never know about them, because Fox won't tell them.

The Ukraine will become a minor nuclear weapons power

About that. Just remember that back in the day after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Ukraine held a not insignificant amount of nuclear weapons, and wisely (perhaps) gave them up. Had they kept even a few, Putin might have had second thoughts on the Crimea, let alone the invasion of the Ukraine itself.

"The Pentagon’s force structure gets rebuilt from a Ukrainian template after Trump’s brief flirtation with wanting battleships and cavalry regiments."

Frankly, I'm just waiting for Trump to hear about the 'good old days' of the early 1900s when the American naval fleet was coal powered. We'll be building around the world coaling stations to supply the fleet with 'Beautiful, Clean Coal'. Then again, the modern catapults will once again be replaced with steam ones and the pilots approaching for landing will strain to see through the coal smoke emanating from their mobile landing field.

Dear Rick, Thank you for another clear-eyed historical, intellectual analysis of what is really going on in America and the world.

Gotta give it up for Vlad. He pulled off the single greatest intelligence operation ever, compromising a US President and God knows how many members of Congress

Hi Ron Johnson

Whatever his goal was, the results have far exceeded his wildest expectations

He’s literally destroying his greatest global enemy and as Khrushchev said … without firing a shot.

100% agree. He got a moron, who will do whatever he asks, elected

Well, if you read people like retired Cdn diplomat Chris Alexander, Putin died a few years ago and the dude you see walking around is one of his old body doubles, with an uneasy promotion. And behind the scenes is a power struggle between factions/families. It’s a believable scenario when you look at ‘Putin’s’ public appearances of late.
