As the descendant of men (and women in 'supporting roles') who fought with Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys as well as Francis Marion the Swamp Fox (hey, things were more fluid in the early days of this nascent republic), something maybe at the level of my DNA has been screaming bloody murder at the way Trump & Co are sitting on the beating heart of this country that so dreamers have bled and died to create--doing their best to grind it into dust. And yes, I know progress has been wayward, incomplete and half-assed, but THERE HAS BEEN PROGRESS, which in the history of this world is a rare thing, at least at the level of the ruling class. And even then, there has been boatloads of backsliding. Your courage inspires me and others, I'm sure. My sincere thanks, and keep on doing what you do.

I too was disappointed that Cory Booker’s nascent campaign never gained altitude in ‘20. He is and always has been a gifted orator with deep, granular understanding of history and how it propelled us to our leadership position on the global stage, now sacrificed on the ego altar of the most ignorant, corrupt, mendacious, malevolent “leader” in our 250 year history. I believe we have reached an inflection point where the benighted and disengaged among us who supported this miscreant, yet not thoroughly indoctrinated into the cult, are awakening to the debacle unfolding and receptive to the guidance of a charismatic figure with a compelling message delivered with sincerity and conviction, free of the stench of partisanship. I believe Cory Booker is that messenger. I fervently hope he seizes the mantle of leadership.

Yes, a great day for the Dems, and let's underline this: " Booker’s speech “may change the course of political history” in that it gave Democrats hope and “a reason to fight.” [Frank Luntz, Republican pollster] The leaderless Dem Party now has a leader--where no other stood up before and fought for 25 hours straight, making his name mean Fighter, Solidarity, and Good Trouble, all at the same time.
And, we have to understand that some of these people are not "misguided", they actually applaud the worst of what our government is doing... they enjoy the spectacle of "othering" and degradation. So, we may forgive; but, don't forget or make excuses.
When I was all fired up for Fightin' Liz Warren in the '20 primary I told myself I had reasons to see Cory Booker in a lesser light, so I told myself he was a bit of a goofball, a bit of a lightweight.
After that barnburner, my respect for Cory Booker has gone off the scale.
He did _exactly_ what the Democrats at this moment needed done. I'd consider him for '28.
