As far as the four things, I think golf has probably replaced sex since he cheats at golf and gets away with it since he hand picks his partners for their obsequiousness.

I've read that when t. was a little boy in elementary school, and a bigger bully (than he is) challenged him, he ran home crying to mommy. No one to save you now!

Have another acronym for you, Rick. You or MJF earlier noted that the Supreme Court occasionally issues a good decision but mostly disappoints. So the Supreme Court Usually Magas — SCUM.

I guess if Trump still can get a boner, it's going to require a stack of positive news articles and a fistful of blue pills.

Ted Gioia asks in today's posting about the outcome of all the newcomers beating a path to Substack. I don't think ultimately the founders and original discoverers are going to like it. There will be e great opportunity for the trashing to begin. MAGA will find its way and Substack will become another overrun tread of trash and negativity. Too bad it cannot remain exclusive but. it has been a really good thing for many to have a corner of the universe of media to all their own. I know I feel so confident and comfortable in the shared views of those I follow . I hope I am wrong but I do believe that the current good reading will be trashed by the same mentality that trashed the Capitol. I am not sure pay walls will matter. I don't think anyone should jump for joy at having the. opposition join the party at Substack.

I just wanted to share this

The beauty of Substack is that it isn't a platform open to all who pass muster with their moderators, like the microblogs (X, BlueSky, etc.), or newspaper forums. Every newsletter is controlled by the writer who is also the moderator and they can delete trolls at will.

The troll problem here is absolutely nothing like Rick on Twitter back in the pre-Elmo days.

You can report the trolls, there are few now and unfortunately more will migrate from Nazi X.

This is perhaps true on the open threads like this one, but it'll still never be like it was on Twitter. Rick's team deletes trolls and removes comments pretty quickly.

On his subscriber-only threads there are no trolls at all because who wants to pay six bucks a month for the privilege of trolling Rick.
