Bondi is a sociopath, without empathy, and she compartmentalizes relationships by type. She was in a room with at least three groups, the Congresspeople, the survivors and the news crews, and thus way out of her depth in how to handle three very different groups simultaneously. Honest people would just tell the truth, dishonest people would just lie consistently, instead she was faced with telling three different stories, and failed miserably.
