Donald Trump is panicking over crashing polls, ICE blowback, and Epstein’s filth washing over him, and this spasm of terror and dread may be the one that makes him believe it’s time to cross the final Rubicon for the American Republic.
When the Trump panics, he doesn’t reach for a more sensible tone, a better policy, or (God forbid) an apology or humility. No, he reaches for a sledgehammer to smash the machinery of our constitutional republic.
Yesterday, while the rest of the country was reeling in horror and disgust over the grotesque revelations in the still-incomplete Epstein Files, Trump went on the pod-bro circuit, this time welcoming Danny Bongbong back to podcasting after his and said the quiet part so loud it shattered windows across the Potomac.
He wants to nationalize the midterms.
It’s much, much worse than it sounds.
