So appreciated your guest today, Rick! I learned a lot more about how dangerous crypto is and not at all surprised that it has crept its way in to our financial system. I learned a number of years ago that crypto was useful for cartels and the like for hiding money. Nat Geo’s Marianna van Zeller did an episode on crypto scams a while back. When Orange Jesus et al. shoed himself right in last year I could almost see the $$$$$ flowing into the family pockets. Sigh...
It is hard for me to ascribe any understanding of crypto to Trump and his sons. They are grifters what they know how to do is spin a good yarn and, collect your money and run. The latest grift is the Trump phone. Hundreds of preorders no phones delivered, AND no refunds available.
I subscribe to Warren Buffet's approach to crypto: It represents no product and no service, so how can it have value? Our financial advisors, who are very good BTW, have said they will not touch the stuff. If we want to do it on our own (which we never will), their response is "Count us out."
There's a fundamental rule about investing that no one should ever deviate from (but millions do):
If you don't understand something, if the value isn't immediately apparent, and if someone has to spend 15 minutes explaining it to you ... stay the fuck away.
I don't know wtf crypto is, I don't WANT to know, and I'll never go near it
As a retiree, I’m not interested in investing & especially not now when our country has no guard rails, I bank only at a credit union because I do not trust banks. Therefore I’ll never try crypto even if Trump wasn’t involved. Our country has many serious problems so my credit union, UFCU in Texas is the only source of financial assistance I trust. If I don’t have enough to cover a charge, they advance me $100 which I pay back with a nominal interest. I check my account online to try to not ga e that problem but if it happens, they gave me covered. I have online quick access & I’m spoiled to this service.
I’ve been deep inside the crypto space since 2020.
Full of scammers.
Taken a massive step back for this reason.
Not related to this but: Marco's lounge wear should be the wee elephant in the room

Of course crypto is a scam.
And a money laundering tool.
Like beanie babies, but I don’t need a garage to store them in.
Enjoyed the interview. It was consistent with what I learned in an SE class in the early 2000s. Digital cash isn’t cash. Block chain lacks use case.
Looking forward to seeing the movie with friends tomorrow.
Okay, I'm out of the loop. When did the guy from the OC become a pundit?

I’m surprised those suckers haven’t taken to the streets. Do they realize Trump despises them, and he doesn’t need them now?

Haven't listened yet, BUT ...
