From your lips to God’s ears! 🙏

I wouldn’t wish bone sawing or a fall from an open window on a high floor on anyone. But, if I did Kushner and Witkoff would be near the top of the list. I don’t worship mammon so I don’t care how much money they make. The destruction is ungodly, tho.

May they soon get The Hague experience. I hope Jack Smith can be back there for it.

superb article, but utterly chilling to boot. Hard to imagine a more despicable bunch of crims--fast turning the US into ruzzian mafia state

Beats me why you don't see this as a return to USA's roots🤔 Indoctrination got through to you more than you realize - you just don't like the new style - and that did change - back to the roots.

Bob McKeown's avatar

Yeah, a nuclear war would get us back to our roots, too.

Martin Anantharaman's avatar

Nuclear war in Europe has been openly labelled a possibility - and if US imperialism (which is rooted by "cultural DNA" across the political spectrum) ever finds itself in a corner (the time will come) - they will take down the world with them.

I'm 66 and I've been an antiwarrior and an anti-anti-Communist my entire life. But this is tankie talk. It is historically inane to lay the evils of imperialism at the feet of the US, as if we somehow invented it. I don't think Andrew Jackson at his most bloodthirstily genocidal was as bad as King Leopold III in the Belgian Congo.

Martin Anantharaman's avatar

There's only so much you can accept because you depend on your national identity.

Bob McKeown's avatar

Am I wrong? Is the Belgian Congo somehow a more functional example of colonialism than the United States?

Martin Anantharaman's avatar

Such whataboutisms disqualify you from serious discussion.

Neither Rubio, nor JD Vance (R-couchfucker) will ever be president. Rubio is an empty suit - no morals and no talent. And everyone hates Vance. And once they really get to know him, they’ll hate him more.

I’m annoyed AF tonight to learn that Jeffries ruled out impeaching Hegseth. If you aren’t going to impeach an incompetent blood thirsty SECDRUNK for war crimes, then what are we even doing?

The fleet should be in the Mediterranean putting pressure on Israel to stop violating that ceasefire and on Russia. Instead they’re menacing Venezuela. It’s as stupid as it is corrupt. Because yeah, profit is at the bottom of everything this corrupt crew gets up to.

Hors de combat, from the French: out OF combat

The main trouble about all this corruption and murder is the fact that half of the electorate doesn't know it is happening. They are in the Fox/News Max/OAN echo chamber and all they care about--rightfully--is their economic well-being. I often wonder whether this Supreme Court has thought about what they have wrought. And I also wonder if they would be looking for a do-over, another case against Trump that would come to them and they could decide differently than total immunity. This would solve most of our problems because the facts are clear: Trump is a crook, a murderer and a fraud. And he needs to go.

Hmmm , I lost what I started to write ,but the massive Venezuelan Oil fields, were pretty obvious from the beginning. That was my first thought...

Thanks Rick: That bit about Trumps vodka got me laughing so hard I couldn't see straight. "yak urine strained through the oil filter of a 1956 Soviet-era farm tractor and aged in toxic waste drums". What the hell are two real-estate tycoons doing trying to sell a red herring to the Ukrainian folks. You see Marco Rubio sitting there as his rectum freezes up staring into space wondering how they are going to divide up the Ukraine , and whats in it for me. If Witkoff and Kushner thing any deal with Putin is a slam dunk they may get invited to the Kremlin for dinner and be on the menu.

It's just Olde Ocelot in a Trump wig.

Never put a Trump wig on an ocelot :(

Rick, You are indispensable, incredibly articulate, and brilliant. Of all my extensive, expensive sources, you’re the best. I thank God that you have the energy and the intellect, and I thank you for all that you’re willing to do. You’re the bright spot as I survey my adopted home state of Florida.

Now I remember what I wanted to post about on-topic before I started bloviating about music ...

Man, I was pissed last week when KegBreath sicc'ed the Pentagon on Maj. Mark Kelly. Military justice is different. Virtually nobody, for any reason, gets off in a court martial. What they'd throw at Kelly is that even hinting that the CiC could issue an illegal order is sowing disharmony in the lower ranks or some such pious military JAG-offitude.

And now just what do we have, starring the Kegster himself?

WarCrimeGate. I dare anyone at the Pentagon to look Maj. Mark Kelly in the eyes right now.

Now playing: Thinking Plague, Malthusian Dances. Anyone who ever wanted to know what rock music would sound like composed with a thoroughgoing 12-tone technique should check this tune out. It is as balls-out atonal as a late Roger Sessions symphony and an all-time favorite ;) Oh, and you _can_ tap your foot to it. You just have to learn how to tap your foot in 13 ;)

"As the niggling pundits talk of reason

Demagogic cranks imagine treason"

Yes, our daily life is best embodied today through the aesthetics of a 1960s Alfred Hitchcock movie score. Bernard Hermann cribbed him some Schoenberg ;). Life has only caught up to my weird, freaky 70s music obsessions. Expect Taylor Swift to put out a death metal record next year ;) The cutest, most darling death metal you ever did hear ;) Don't expect atonality, though, LOL

It's Greta Thunberg who'll have a death metal album. This clip is masterful:

Moving on. I think we all need to level set about Aftyn tomorrow. I'm predicting that she'll lose by under five and we Democrats ought to celebrate that in an R +22 district. Of course she can also win, but let's not get all Hegelian about it ;) A win for us here right now is pure gravy.

Bob McKeown's avatar

As for Taylor's upcoming death metal album, I was being ebulliently facetious.
