LOVE this ad. It saddens me that a bigger deal was not made of VE Day. Many Americans are forgetting or are too young to know about this. It is up to all of us to remind America what the Greatest Generation did for our freedom and others' against authoritarianism
Just call me Pope Bob. Only my last name is McKeown, not Prevost ;)
As an "escaped Catholic" (as Zappa would say), I'm pretty hopeful about this pick. Despite being an American, Pope Leo is not going to try to overwrite Francis and stick it to the global South. His first Papal address was delivered in Latin, Italian and Spanish. And he slammed JD Vance hard on X ;)
Looks like we may have gotten ourselves another Resistance Pope ;)
Thank you for this. We need to be reminded about the sacrifices of our ancestors for the freedoms we have now, and those same freedoms that we are in danger of losing to authoritarianism. Keep resisting!
Thank you Rick Wilson… this put tears in my eyes. We must never forget the sacrifices our people, and people around the world made to preserve our freedoms. 😪💙👍👏
Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...
You re-posted this from a couple weeks ago. As I said then, there are many steps to go between then and now and we still have tools in our arsenal to resist this dystopian slide.
There's a difference knowing the future and becoming aware of it. Soon enough we will see what happens. So, keep your gravity pants on and enjoy the show!
Epistemologically, there isn't. You only become aware of the future when it slides into the present; prior to that, it's entirely conceptual. You can bet on outcomes; much of our finance system is based on that. But the probability of an outcome isn't concrete knowledge of it.
There is nothing enjoyable about this show; it's grotesque and repellent on every level. But resistance is never futile.
The good news is that we will soon find out. The bad news is that's all you are going to have. And I admit the show is not as enjoyable as I let you believe, but we both knew it anyway. Now, why don't we just bet on the outcome? I pay you one dollar if I'm wrong. If I'm right you'll pay me one dollar. Deal?
Bravo - well done!! My father and two uncles flew p-38s, B-17s and P-51s in that war… one got shot down over Holland and hid in a windmill, another shot down and buried in No. Africa, and the other was stationed in the Aleutians. That was the last war to see unified patriotism. My, my, just look at us now.
We were in Reims, France at the surrender museum a few weeks ago on a sunny and glorious spring day and the entire time I was there and all the pride I felt imagining the sacrifice our forefathers gave to ensure freedom, such a wave of sadness enveloped me as well. We can only come through the darkness by continuing to resist and fight in our own way and must never give up or give in to the fascists who are currently in charge.
We've been a shameful, ignorant country since forever. Continental Army soldiers thought that Washington was fighting to crush the installation of a Catholic monarchy. And our Framers -- those princes of the Enlightenment -- allowed slavery and the egregious 3/5ths clause. Not to mention that nearly all of them were slaveowners themselves. Oh, and we ethnically cleansed and genocided the original inhabitants (Hitler strongly admired that about the US), pushing them off to nearly uninhabitable, barren chunks of real estate while we kept all the good parts.
My dad was a paratrooper who participated at Normandy Beach. This video above about the Greatest Generation was spot on. How can we forget the sacrifices made to preserve America, and make it a greater country.
I believe much of trump’s support is because we as a people have lost our humanity and patriotism. For many reasons we are more concerned with our small circle of friends than society as a whole.
In summer Germany shows a film ( on its Parliamentary Building in Berlin) that documents how Hitler came to power. How people were led, little by little, to follow his world view that there was a superior race and that a few should have more power over the masses.
America needs to wake up and start evaluating where we are headed. trump has given people an excuse to be their worst selves instead of challenging them to be better. As a pre-school teacher I tried to instill and encourage kindness. Kindness is not weakness - and sometimes it is harder to be kind to someone than just ignore or oppose them. Kindness is something America needs right now.
Each generation is defined by the actions that are taken so that others may live free. When everything seems bleak history is my guide. I will carry the torch forward until my last breath! These times require action as well as reflection. Proud to be in this fight with you! God Bless us all!

Yes!
Another great ad!
Great work LP!!
I love this. Maybe your best and most important yet.

So you keep saying...
No one can know the future. Getting despondent about a _possible_ future is precisely what our opponents want. I will not submit to being demoralized.

Beautiful. Thank you ✨🌹🦋🕊️💫
Americans wouldn’t even fucking VOTE to stop this shit. We are a shameful, ignorant country.

Of course, we could do the British Empire next ;)

Fantastic job
The video is a remembrance that touches the soul. Thanks, Rick.
