At least the previous Trump press secs pretended to have at least an attempt at seriousness. A poker face as they told their scripted lies. She smirks coyly, snickers, taunts, calls torture prison videos 'fun' and gives way too much of the game away. Gold cross twinkling as she sprays out contempt for the press and democracy. It's nice to know someday soon she will be discarded like his used shitty Depends, like so many before her who disgraced that podium.

The cheap snide petty (and often juvenile) insults are a distressing feature of Trump and his spokespeople. Stephen Cheung is a particularly disgusting practitioner. I can't think of any occasions on which Biden or his communications people threw out gratuitous insults about the people they were disagreeing with.

At some point late in the campaign last year, Kamala Harris was pressed into admitting that Trump was a fascist. I don't consider that a cheap insult - it's a statement of fact - but it was also supported by examples and quotations. Calling a judge, or a bishop, 'hard left' or 'Marxist' because he or she supported the traditional values of their offices is a different kind of statement. And playing games with people's names should not survive one's middle-school days.
