All print media is in trouble, mostly because of the web, whether it be by taking away advertising revenue, or providing 'instantaneous' updates on stories that deserved 5 minutes total at best, not beaten into the ground for days. I can remember when a Sunday newspaper had 10, 20 pages of employment ads from corporations. Today? Nada. The same goes for general ads. No more Target, few big box stores. You can't operate without those revenues.

But she did at least get a college degree, something that no one in her family before her did. Did she earn it? I don't know. But it's a deserved question.
Saint Anselm, a Benedictine (Roman Catholic) college founded in 1889. Not what you'd call a traditional 'Bible college'. However, you can go to a fine institution and still come out intellectually blind and just plain ignorant. I give you a certain graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Catholic learning institutions are generally known for their quality of education despite any political or social biases. I wonder, though, if they were infected by the Trad Catholics who think Pope Francis is illegitimate because he said that gay people were, you know, God's children, too.
As for Wharton, Trump had a professor who famously said that Stupid Hitler was the dumbest student he ever had. According to Mary Trump, his sister Maryanne wrote all his papers for him.
I'm a bit of a stickler with my penchant for serious music, but I gotta give two thumbs down for the new bumper music. The dad rock rockabilly with the screeching punched in guitar was bad enough, but this bit of transparently DAW produced urbanism screams phoniness.
Maybe no one will notice this but dudes like me and there are less and less of us.
This thread is pretty inactive so I can get away with this. Just to palate cleanse from the thought of that music, here's an example of some of my favorite, from the Japanese avant garde drum and bass legends, Ruins. From their DVD Let's Dance With Irregular Rhythms.
Irregular? Heh. This ain't progrock in odd time signatures, this is pure through composed, superhumanly tight avant garde. There isn't a groove or so much as a repeating riff in all 19 minutes. I doubt any of you could sit through thirty seconds of it, but you never know. It is one of my favorite things ;)
