Okay, it's 4am and this next is somewhat OT, but this is what the gerbils are up to right now in that gerbil cage of a skull o' mine ;). And it will have bearing on our movement going forward.

I just saw an excellent vid by a trans black guy who explained the femboy to fascist pipeline, which is as real a thing as the RNC serially crashing Grindr ;). Anime cat ears, oversized hoodies and thigh-highs are a big thing among the frogboys. But wait, you say, this is a contradiction! Fascism is all about glorifying and reifying binary heteronormativity until it's a caricature of itself.

I was an American studies major, sociology minor and I've seen plenty of this type of argumentation; I'd call his argument's armature Queer Theory (yes, it's a thing in academic cultural studies). The idea is like in any extreme, destructive, self-reinforcing ideology (think destructive cults), fascism isn't slowed down by contradictions, it actually feeds on them.

_Of course_ the guy shlepping to the Home Depot parking lot at 5am to pick up some day labor to feed his family is _likely also_ a murderous, raping narcotrafficker (or child trafficker, if the imagination flags. Or both ;). _Of course_ the purity of those golden 50s specimens of blonde female pulchritude so important for the continued propagation of the white race ... isn't for _frogboys._

See, that's the thing. Nick's farm team for future leaders of the GOP (ROTFL), the Groypers, consists of basement-dwelling 4chan freakzoids. Less terminally online than fatally online. Most of these teens and very young men (has a female Groyper ever been spotted in the wild?), if not all self-identifying as incels are pretty damn incel-curious and black pilled. They're never gonna get laid. They'll never have the five figures it would take to medically smash their faces and rebuild them with a Chadlike jawline, or have both their legs broken and washers inserted to gain a precious half-inch or inch of height. (Yes, some men are actually so convinced that being below a certain height is essential for romantic happiness that they'll willingly spend nine months of painful recovery and physical therapy before they can walk again. I think these guys are even sadder than the jaw busters.) They know their superiors in the movement keep all the hot women from them, so they learn how to hate hot women (Fuentes dined out hard on JD's embrace of Kirk's widow and the Groypers are busying running the misogynist playbook on her).

So these guys are consenting to cosplay, at least in their minds, as jailhouse wives. What starts as an "ironic" TikTok parody of decadent lefty lifestyles becomes a bit to fully commit to.

That way, the precious fascist illusion of protecting the nation as a family can be preserved.

My all-time favorite novel by my all-time favorite novelist, Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow, is set in the final months of WW2. In a 760-page novel about a defining moment in 20th-century history, there are maybe five paragraphs directly related to the Nazis. Instead, the book's focus is on the German secret weapons program, particularly the V-2. And in a world prior to even CompuServe (1973), Pynchon crams in so much primary research material about that you'd almost forget that the vast bulk of the novel deals with the grandiosely perverse sexual politics of rocket scientists and engineers.

I hope our message is clear — Maybe the lunatic felon president shouldn't have shared a video of himself splattering diarrhea on his own people.

He never learns. It's how he singlehandedly _lost_ two entirely winnable Senate seats for the Republicans in Georgia in '20. He's absolutely glued to the irrelevant fact that his endorsements near universally win in primaries but the record is rather, uhh, mixed in general elections.

Of course, Grandpa Ranty also just said that gas is down to $2/gal.

I feel a little hope today that people are starting to listen and pay attention. We’ve got miles to go, but in my opinion, I see a little glimmer of light and a bit of a shift is starting to take place. Whoop‼️ Whoop⁉️ 😎 You are dearly appreciated Rick. Thanks for the wonderful educational lesson tonight.

I was not a Cheney fan, until Liz stood tall. Regardless, he gave of himself while in office and was respected by many. May he rest in peace. I imagine this country as it stands today troubled him greatly. We are working to right this ship!

You are dead right about VA - and about Winsome-Earles. A. She’s nuts and B. She’s black. Conservative rural voters ain’t turning out in big numbers for the black woman.

Also, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for being involved in VA. I live here and I appreciate all you do.

This is amazing, Rick. Your analysis is always so cogent, so easy to understand.

I once worked for the editor of a biomedical journal, a professor who also taught a class on scientific writing. He often reflected on how elegantly the best medical and scientific writers practiced their craft. They wrote so that laypeople could understand them. They avoided jargon. They used appropriate similes and metaphors. And they were not afraid to convey the wonder they found in their observations. Your essay reminded me of his words.

I liked your closing remembrance of Richard Cheney. I was never a fan of Cheney’s politics, but he touched my heart at the end with the way he supported his daughter Liz and the truth that she stood up for, even if it meant opposing the entire Republican Party.

As far as Dick Chaney goes, I don't think anyone is all good or bad. I'm truly sorry for your loss, and the loss for his family.

I don't have enough knowledge about Mr. Chaney to have a strong opinion either way. I can definitely appreciate his service to the country.

I appreciated your words about him. It made me think better of him. Rest in peace, Mr. Vice President.

Now you know a good ol' antiwarrior and lifelong anti-anti-Communist like Yours Truly wouldn't have many nice things to say about your old boss Deadeye Dick, but I found your eulogy quite moving and it got me to listen. Dick Cheney in retirement didn't need to say squat about Trump.

He did. That took balls. America owes him gratitude for that.

Rick,

My heartfelt condolences to you, and the entire Cheney family, on the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

I didn’t agree with him on any issues, really, but I admired him for having the courage of his convictions by calling out Trump for being the fascist miscreant he is.

He struck me as someone who was “solid, steady, and true down to the core.”

May his memory be a blessing.
