You Must Watch This Ossoff Speech
It's magnificent.
I’ve been a speechwriter for longer than he’s been alive, but my God…I wish I’d written this.
It’s brilliant.
As an indictment of our fallen era.
As inspiration.
As a path to victory.
It’s not the usual focus-grouped Democratic Party consultant slurry. It’s right in the heart, the gut, and the pocketbook, linking the corruption and graft of Trump and his party to the economic distress of all but a handful of the richest and most corrupt.
Ossoff hasn’t just improved as a candidate and as a speaker…he’s raising the bar.
“Freedom is rare. Stretching beyond the horizon of recorded history, most humans who have ever lived have lived at the mercy of lords and masters and kings. But we are a nation founded on the rejection of Kingdom. We all human beings have a natural right to liberty.”
A DC Democratic consultant would never let that graf enter even the first draft of this speech.
I’m glad Ossoff did.
What a great young man and great speech. He will be the one to say “have you no shame, sir?” He is the politician we need and want. I have absolutely no complaints about Osoff’s abilities except to say he would set things right after decades of broken politics his troops keep doing what everyone said was impossible, such as hitting Russia hard In attempts to end the hostilities and look forward to what we can accomplish together to usher in a new, more peaceful coexistence
In 2020 my transition from lifelong Republican who voted for Trump in 2016 to Never Trump was complete. I had very little interest in politics up until then, but that all changed when Trump hijacked the Republican party. I wrote postcards in support of Ossoff to Georgia voters during his campaign. Five hundred postcards, all hand written because I'm old-fashioned that way. It was more than just a "Postcards to Voters" assignment for me. There was something special about this man. He has driven that point home with this speech. Go, Jon, go!
